Why is the Bible important?

Truth: God has spoken and the spoken word is now the written word. Reality: The written word is no longer as attractive as it was in the pastTrend: The Bible is being pushed away from people's lives. The end result: the Bible is no longer considered as important and relevant.

2 Timothy 3:15-17

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is[a]inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for [b]training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

“Difficult Times Will Come”

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, [a]haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,holding to a form of [b]godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.

When a Bible disappears or starts becoming insignificant 1-5 becomes true.
What happens when we refuse the Bible.
1. Refusing the bible makes us ignorant of things that really matter in life.
2. Makes us ignorant of dangerous sins in our lives.
3. Makes us ignorant of wrong decisions and wrong paths in life.
4. Makes us ignorant of true righteousness.

Why is the Bible is important?
1. When the bible is present in the life of a person the person becomes equipped with anything in life.
2. When the bible is absent in the lives of the people, social units become destabilized starting from the family.
3. When the Bible is handed down from generation to generation faith in Jesus becomes clear and compelling.
