Preserve blessings and Recovering blessings

Joshua 7
Joshua: The help of God can come in form of intervention
Sometimes through the principles that were instilled in us.
Jericho victory
Ai temporary defeat
Achir trouble purification and recovery
3 proscriptive principles
(Dont do this)
1. Do not contaminate your blessings with personal disobedience enjoy your jericho without contaminating it.
Some things will contaminate us.
Not able to enjoy the fullness of his victory.

2. Do not face challenges with bravado. But confidence in purified spirituality.
Courageous in the wrong way. Begin everything with worshipping God.
Attitude: I can do everything through Him.
3. Do not allow self-pity to defeat you repent and get on with your life.
Different Self pity And factual analysis of where you are now.
Nobody is exempted from difficulties and troubles.

Do you need a new beginning now. Hope courage for pursuing life.

Avoiding Minefields

Battlefield: minefields
Many. Christians live in a life with minefields some survive but are less of what they should be.
Avoiding minefields
Joshua 7:1
Become defeated not because enemy has become string but because they have become weak
He was looking at it at a point of view of pain-Joshua
Minefield of sin without them knowing.
Mines if sins hard to identify.: simple
1. Sin of stealing characterized of having what you should not have (prohibited possession)
Contaminates the person and the entire clan
You will not progress. Give it up!
2. The sin of arrogance.characterized by lack of wisdom. (Prohibited option)
Consult others that are familiar with what you will be doing. Wisdom is associated with age. Failire to consult others.
3. Sin of hopelessness charaterized by lack of trust by God's plan for us. V7 (prohibited conclusion)
"If only we have been content to stay" when we focus on what other people have done against us.
It is a choice to he hopeless or not. Delaying means He wants you to accomplish something greater. IT IS a Sin!

Running for the prize

Running for the prize.
2 cor 9:24-27
Paul wrote to the corinthians Encouraging them to apply the same zeal and determination to their Christian lives as they did to their athletics. Very carnal.

1. Paul spaeks of the throphy 24&25b
In the isthmian game the winner recieved a crown evergreen needles.
Beautiful symbolic but withers
Men sacrifice the worthless trophies of athletic ompetition
Prepare, exercise diet abstain from any semblance of a normal life, for what. A Medal?

All the sacrifice and dedication for a corruptible prize a worthless relic.
The prize of Jesus Christ is better than all trophies and medals the workd can give.
"But we do it to get a crown that will last forever. "
The prize in the Christian race is an incorruptible prize It is of infinite value and everlasting worth
This prize is valuable because of the one who gave it. -Jesus
The greatest prize ever, trophy the utmost crown is given by King of kings and the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ.
It is given as his expression of satisfaction nd approval of those who hace run the race done their best for the lord.
2. Paul speaks of the test v26
Paul says run with determination. Not shadow boxing, he means business
Serious competition. With the devil.
The enemy is the devil he is out to deceive you so as to enslave you.
Eph 6:12
Listen, this competition is not a game.
The devil is playing for keeps.
It is a life or death competition.
Satan is organized. He studied you. He knows when, where and how to strike you.
We are stuggling against a liar who will deceive you.
His demons will whisper lies into your mind to turn you away from the truth of God.
Christianity is not a game. We are involved in a life and death struggle john 10:10
You are in a battle for freedom (to enjoy christian life, to worship, fellowship with God) john 8:32
Your future will be determined by how you run the race.
I mean quit playing church quit considering your chrisitanity as an accesory to life. Phil 1:21
Not only do we need to be determined, earnest we need to be resolve.
Resolve means that you have a fixed purpose.
Focus yourself in running your race.
Heb12:2
Dont compare your race with other people's race.
Resolve to run the race
Another thing we need is continuity.
"well done my good and faithful servant"
Many christians lives consist of complancency and compromise there is no continuity
Why? They are relying on feelings.
They serve God as long as it feels good.
So to lass the test
We must run with deterministion
We must run earnestly
We must run resolutely
We must run continuously

Christian are you ready to run the race with fervor?

Some look at the size of the church etc.
It is in the attitude of acknowledging that God is I am, everything that you need in life is God. This is when you feel that you ministry is wrong or experiencing suffering.
Fix our eyes on jesus.

The Denarius Blessing: a challenge to understand how God releases blessings

Matthew 20:1-16

It is about the kingdom of God.
Basic complaints:
We did more
We spent longer time working
We surfered more
We suffer socially as a result
It is not in relation to what you do but how God knows you.
Sometimes he gives someone more than what He has given You. Sometimes he gives you more than what he gives others.
And yet his blessings are equal for everyone. Contradiction?

Important principle of parable
What appears to be unfairness is in fact a demonstration of divine kindness and fairness.

What does denarius blessing reveal about how God gives blessings.
1. The denarius blessing reminds us that God's gifts are usually mathed with each persons need.
The Bible recognizes that accomplishments may vary from person to person(the sower)
The denarius speaks of God's wisdom of providing according to need (all need a denarius a day)
2. The denarius blessing reminds us that every hard work will be rewarded.
All of them performed hard work thought some spend less time than others.
3. The denarius blessing reminds us That sincerity in wanting to be blessed is an important part of the process of being blessed.
All the men desired to find work. In the jewish mind finding work is equated with being blessed.
How can this be applied to our situation today:
This is an invitation!

Express the desired to be bless, desiring is the first step in receiving
I am blessed and i will continue to be blessed!

Blessings that are given without asking for it

Genesis 1
2 kinds of blessings
Blessings na hinihingi
God giving blessings without being asked
1. The blessing would come to us if we do the highest purpose pf god to us.
Image bearer : spiritual.
Reminds you of the person represented by the image.
Ideal image bearer is when others are reminded of god.
Revealing god is in your life.
Hishest purpose: image bearer v.26

Highest principle concerning our needs: Take only what god has only allowed for you
Distinguish what god is giving and what he is not giving.
Take only from the sources that he had God approved.
Take only what is allowed from your provisions.
Learn to trust God that he will provide v29

3. Highest partnership from you life/of this world: family focus on the people you are to take care of.
You are supposed to take care of all people but start with your own family.
Focus your love on your family.
