Beatitudes: virtues of the kingdom

Good Mourning: the blessedness of the mourner

Matthew 5:4

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Mourn: Dalamhati hindi pagluluksa

Blessed are those who mourn:
- macarios means happy in the sense of tranquility(not agitated) and assurance

Mourn: two components: 
1. Reason:why? 
2. Accompanying emotions-sorrow, pain.

Biblical mourning is a virtue - it is a spiritual character. It enables us to be comforted by God's grace 
MTQ: What does it mean to mourn while in this world?

1. We mourn because some losses can be quite painful 
Reasonable mourning.

10 She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping.

2. We mourn because in this world confronted by the invasive nature and destructiveness of sin

2 Corinthians 12:21

21 I am afraid that when I come again my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have sinned in the past and not repented of the impurity,[a]immorality and sensuality which they have practiced.

3. We mourn when we have to but God will always grant us the comfort of His personal companionship.
