Principles of biblical service

How does God develop a believer to be a servant?
What is God's requirement In approving our service to Him?
How do you know you are in the right calling?

Exodus 3:1-14

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Burning Bush

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the [a]west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of [b]bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed. So Moses said, “[c]I must turn aside now and see this[d]marvelous sight, why the bush is not burned up.” When theLord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” He said also, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.
The Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings. So I have come down to deliver them from the [e]power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite. Now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

The Mission of Moses

10 Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 And He said, “Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall [f]worship God at this mountain.”
13 Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “[g]I AM WHO[h]I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘[i]I AM has sent me to you.’”

It is the desire of he Lord for us to serve and build his kingdom.

1. Serving God requires removal of our own sandals.
Removal of impurities in life
1st requirement holiness.
Sandal - represent anything that cannot glorify God. Never reflect the holiness of God.
Why?
A. You are serving a holy God. You are representing a holy God.

2 Samuel 2

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

David Made King over Judah

Then it came about afterwards that David inquired of theLord, saying, “Shall I go up to one of the cities of Judah?” And the Lord said to him, “Go up.” So David said, “Where shall I go up?” And He said, “To Hebron.” So David went up there, andhis two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail the[a]widow of Nabal the Carmelite. And David brought up his men who were with him, each with his household; and they lived in the cities of Hebron. Then the men of Judah came and there anointed David king over the house of Judah.
And they told David, saying, “It was the men of Jabesh-gilead who buried Saul.” David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh-gilead, and said to them, “May you be blessed of theLord because you have [b]shown this kindness to Saul your lord, and have buried him. Now may the Lord [c]show lovingkindness and truth to you; and I also will [d]show this goodness to you, because you have done this thing. Now therefore, let your hands be strong and be [e]valiant; for Saul your lord is dead, and also the house of Judah has anointed me king over them.” The thanksgiving of David

B. Holiness assures us of victory.

C. Beauty of holiness you can easily hear/clearness of what he tells. Clearing of pride etc.
Purifying our motives

2. Serving God requires reaffirmation of one's calling
Bago sumabak sa calling.
Reaffirmation with relationship with God. Reveal god to him.

How do you know the right calling?
1st. I will be with you(presence of God)
2nd. He gives you enough grace to finish the tasks.
3rd. Anything you do will reflect worship of God.

3. Serving God realignment of our will in accordance to our will.
You do not belong to any ministry. You have no right to choose. No ownership.

When you suffer you are able to stand. The test is suffering when we know the calling of God.
