Analyze your faith
Evangelism? Conversion? Discipleship? - this is a battlefield
Marks of a true disciple
True disciples must live a life that is worthy of their calling and fitting of their status as God's children and as chosen people;
must demonstrate their humility and unity in the christian fellowship, while at the same time rejoicing in the diversity of their gift and so of their ministries;
must put away all the uncleanliness of their pre-conversion behavior and the life of true righteousness and holiness.;
must learn to submit to one another in every kind of domestic relationship and so promote harmony in their church and in their homes.
"Wag balikan ang kasalan!"
Becoming disciples is our goal.
Ephesians 6:10-12
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For ourstruggle is not against [a]flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of thisdarkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.1. You are in a war zone (realize that you are at war)
"Finally, be strong... Put on the full armor of God. Reason why: for our struggle.. Whole of our lives is a battle. "Matt 10:34
We need to be warriors.
2. You need the Lord's strength to win in this war. V10
Our strength is inadequate. Our God is more than sufficient.
3. You will need God's armor to stand against the devil. You need protection from the enemy. V11
God's new society? Satan wants to destroy.
God has broken down the enslaving walls?, Satan will try to rebuild it again.
1 Peter 5:8-9
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.9 [a]But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your[b]brethren who are in the world.
4. You need to understand that your opposition isn't ultimately human. (know your enemy) v12He works in the mind.
He tries to appeal to our three big E's
1. Our eyes - the " lust of the eyes"
2. Our ego - by means of self-centered pride.
3. Our ethics - I can slide by no one will know. Some have called this "situational ethics".
The world says to us go ahead as long as no one gets hurt it does not matter.
What is done in your private life is your business and no one should question you.
Satan is also very patient in the way he works. The devil is not in any hurry.
Many Christians fall in their fifties and sixties and seventies.
Stay vigilant, stay connected to a close friend you can flee to when the enemy overwhelms you.
1 Corinthians 10:12
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
